Event Recap: Supercar Sunday NL 2016!
Sunday May 15th was the date we were looking forward to. It was the date that one of the best Dutch supercar events took place at the TT Circuit in Assen. Last year's edition was already an amazing event filled with so much supercars you simply didn't know where to look, and this year it was no different. Actually, it was even better when it comes to the amount of supercars that were present. The only thing that could possibly be better was the weather, because it was very changeable weather with sometimes a bit of sun, and sometimes the rain was pouring down.
We arrived around 10 o'clock at the TT Circuit in Assen and the parking area was already quite full with visitors from all over the country and probably also visitors from Germany (since it is quite close to the Dutch-German border). First we went to get our Press jackets because we needed to be able to go on the pit lane and be close to the supercar action. Then we went around and took a look at all the supercars that were already present on all the paddocks. Koenigseggs, LaFerrari's, McLaren P1's.. everything was there! To our diappointment the Gemballa Mirage GT was not at the event but that's probably the only hypercar that we really missed. There were actually so many that it was very difficult to capture everything that we wanted, but we think we did a pretty good job. Actually the first video (of the almighty McLaren P1 GTR) has already been published online! You can check that one out right here.
But apart from all the hypercars like the Koenigsegg CCXR, Bugatti Veyron WRC Edition and McLaren P1 GTR there were also quite some modified cars present. Prior Design for example brought some cool cars like a matte blue Ferrari 458, and so did Brabus. There was also a matte orange BMW M6 modified by Hamann Motorsport and some cars were fitted with a lovely sounding Capristo exhaust system. You can get a good impression of what was present during the event by checking out the photo gallery down below!
During the day some of the hyper - and supercars also went for a little spin on the track, which was of course a really cool experience and great video material. Overall it was a very good day filled with some amazing cars, the weather could've been better and we missed the Gemballa Mirage GT, but there was more than enough horsepower present to make up for it! All we have left to say is: stay tuned for several videos of the event coming online on our YouTube channel in the upcoming weeks!
